I. General Rules .
1. The Membership Card (Readers Ticket) is not transferable.
2. Use of Mobile phone is prohibited in the Library.
3. Consumption of food and drinks is not permitted in the Library.
4. All personal belongings such as bags, umbrellas, parcels, etc except files and books must be kept outside the Library.
5. On leaving the Library, all users are required to produce for inspection all books and items taken out of the Library.
6. Silence must be observed strictly in the Library.
7. Reservation of seats is not permitted. Books and other articles left for any length of time on chairs and tables may be removed by the library staff.
8. Users must be decently dressed and conduct themselves properly in the Library.
9. The Library staff on duty has the right to request a user to leave the premises if he is found to be violating any of the Library rules.
10. The Librarian is empowered to withhold Library facilities for any infringement of these rules.
11. The Library will not accept responsibility for the loss or misplacement of personal belongings.
12. The Librarian may amend the Library Rules and Regulations as and when necessary.
13. Any constructive suggestion from readers will be welcomed by the Library.
14. Entry will be restricted without proper identity card
II. General Loan Rules
1. Only members can borrow Library materials.
2. No books or library materials may be brought out of the Library until the loan has been recorded. Unauthorized removal of library materials is regarded as a very serious offence.
3. Library materials borrowed must be returned on or before the due date.
4. The normal loan period for books is two weeks (14 days). The Library, however, may fix varying loan periods for different types of materials or users as it deems fit.
5. The books due may be re-issued upto a further period of 2 weeks provided:
(i) No other reader has reserved the same book.
(ii) Not more than one renewal has already been made for the same book by the member.

6. All borrowers must settle any overdue loans before they are permitted to borrow again.
7. 7. Books once issued, should not be brought inside to the library, unless for renewal or return.
8. Books borrowed should be returned in good condition and before the due date, failing which, fine will be levied as per the rules of the library.
III. Reservation of Books
1. Each member is entitled to the borrowing of not more than 3 books at a time. If the book desired is not available then the member can reserve the book to be issued to him/her later.
2. The books reserved by more than one reader will be issued for a shorter duration depending upon the demand of the book.
3. The order in the reservation register will be strictly followed for servicing of reserved books.
4. The book reserved shall be issued only against the valid tickets of the person making the reservation.
IV. Overdue books 1. Books must be returned by the due date or earlier if recalled by the Librarian.
2. Failure to return a book by the date specified will be treated as a serious offense.
3. The Library will endeavor to send overdue notices but will not be held responsible for non-delivery, under whatever circumstances.
V. Fines
1. A fine of Re.1/-per day will be imposed on anyone returning an overdue book.
2. Due care will be taken by the library to prevent misuse of lost card. However, library will not be responsible for any misuse of the lost card by a third party. The original/authorized card holder will be responsible for any loss which the library will suffer due to misuse of the lost or stolen card.
3. On request, duplicate card may be issued after a period of 30 days of the report of the loss has been made formally at a renewal fee of Rs.100/- for issue of duplicate card. Second loss of card will disentitle the member for issuance of duplicate card.
VI. Loss and Damage
1. Borrowers will be held responsible for materials out on loan.
2. All the books and other materials borrowed from the Library must be used with care, without making any marking, scribbling, underlining or causing any kind of damage. If books are returned in a damaged condition, they will be rejected and charges/rules as applicable to lost books will be imposed.
3. If the material is lost, an immediate report should be made to the Librarian to enable appropriate action to be taken
4. A borrower is allowed to either replace the book lost or damaged by purchasing it himself or requesting the Library to replace it. In addition to replacement price, 25% extra charges shall be payable for loss of each book provided it is available in the market. If the book is not available in the market, extra charges @300% of the price of latest edition of the book must be paid, in addition to the replacement cost.
5. All books replaced must be of the latest edition. If the book is one of a set or series they may be called upon to replace the whole set or series.
